With the imminent applicability of the Amending Regulation on European Union designs, the EUIPO has updated its guidelines on the examination of applications for registered EU designs and design invalidity applications. Additionally, ‘Part A General rules’ and ‘Part E Register operations’ (which overlap with trade marks) have also been updated to reflect the new practice and changes that will come into effect in the first phase of the Design Legislative Reform on 1 May 2025.
